How to Ping Apple Watch ?

First of all you have to enable “Find My iPhone” for the said process. The following steps will show you how to enable this option from your settings. This is a must pre-requisite for pinging watch from iPhone.

  • If you’ve already enabled this option, then skip these steps.

  1. Go to the “Settings” App.
  2. Tap on the first option (your name).
  3. Go to “iCloud“.
  4. Scroll down and tap on “Find My iPhone” option.

Method 1:

  1. From your home screen, launch the Watch App on your iDevice.
  2. Select your Apple Watch from the list. Mostly its the only watch paired.

Method 2:

If Your watch is not paired with your smarthphone, but is connected to the internet, here is how you can ping an unpaired Apple Watch from your iPhone.

  1. On your homescreen, open up “Find My app”.
  2. From the list of devices below the map, tap on your SmartWatch.
  3. From there you’ll see a screen with a dialogue box showing Play Sound. Tap on the option and your Apple Watch will start to ping (play sound).

  1. Wake up your iWatch.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to see the control centre.
  3. You will see a small phone icon with ((📱)) like this.
  4. Tap on that icon to play sound on paired iPhone.

Why Apple Watch is not Pinging using iPhone? – Troubleshoot

Occasionally it happens that you your iPhone or your AppleWatch does not respond to ping and do not play any sound while pinging from either devices. However, there are simple troubleshooting steps you can take to verify and correct the settings. Or find out the real cause of the problem. Please check the following steps to ensure complete connection.

  1. Make sure your iPhone and Watch are having an active internet connection.
  2. Find My iPhone and Find My Apple Watch must be enabled on both the devices.
  3. iCloud ID must be the same on both the devices.
  4. If wifi is not connected on any one of the devices, the procedure will fail to be successful.
  5. If your watch or your iPhone/ iPad/ iPod is not pinging, you can open up iCloud.com on a web browser and check the last known location of your device.
